Over 600 years old, and set in delightful grounds only one mile from the centre of Taunton in the beautiful county of Somerset, Meryan House caters for people looking for a relaxing break away and provide bed and breakfast and guest house facilities for a comfortable stay.
The owners of Meryan House Hotel and Guest house have opened up three of the original inglenook fireplaces and a complete working well over 30 feet deep, which was uncovered in the kitchen.
The bedrooms are individually decorated with antique furniture and the luxurious honeymoon room has a Half Tester Bed. All rooms are en suite and have a hospitality tray, radio/baby/alarms, direct dial telephones and "New remote control Digital Flat Screen televisions", with over 60 Channels ,Extra touches include luxury toiletries, sweets and paper handkerchiefs.
For the last three years, the Hotel gardens have won the 'Taunton In Bloom' Best Hotel Category. The hotel has two rare breed of dogs called "Dandy Dinmonts", Bubbles will announce your arrival. she is a proper little madam, with here own fan club, and poor old spike has passed away, but his place is taken by "Dazzle" who will be appeared at Crufts in 2008, look out for him as he is a champion.

Meryan House has its own restaurant where local seasonal produce from Taunton and Somerset is used as much as possible. There is a balanced a la carte menu as well as daily specials. it is adviseable to see if the Restaurant is open as there is usually private parties going on at weekends.

It was no surprise to return to Meryan House Hotel and find such high standards throughout all areas of the establishment, all of which reflects the conscientious and committed approach of the ownership here. Bedrooms have great indivduality and levels of quality are unified in all respects with excellant maintenance in all cases. With regard to the bathrooms, the advances are very impressive with new flooring refreshing presentation and introducing a more durable and hygenic surface. In terms of houskeeping, it was reassuring to see diligent cleanliness with close attention to detail and no lapses of any kind. Public areas are all well appointed with generous levels of space and confort with the gardens also being a significent asset here. The car park and exterior, collectively create a very positive impression. Overall an operation which clearly has a very successful client base, and a professional approach to thier customers.
